Here's a bit of actual news from last month that we totally dropped the ball in announcing in a timely manner (meh. go figure) - A new Starflyer 59 tribute compilation called Never Play Covers came out on May 9 (5/9, see?), and we were lucky to be a part of it with our renditions of "We're the Ordinary" and "First Heart Attack".
There are actually a ton of great songs in this collection, which is slightly annoying to me just because I'm finding our tracks sound a bit shitty by comparison, and I wish I had done better job on them once I heard overall fantastic quality of the other contributions to the project. (I embedded two of my favorites by Glassfield and Ben Ricketts over there on the left.)
And if you haven't heard any Starflyer 59 before, you really gotta check them out. They have a massive catalog, but personal favorites of mine that I'd recommend would be 2003's "Old," 2001's "Leave Here A Stranger" and 1998's "The Fashion Focus." And a new album coming out later this month, and what I've heard from it so far is sounding really good.
